Wisdom Teeth Removal in Memphis, TN

Impacted or erupting wisdom teeth can cause infection, damage to nearby teeth, and other pathology. Salmon Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery removes wisdom teeth if necessary at the East Memphis office of Dr. Bryant Salmon, DMD, MD.
Dr. Salmon is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. He completed a six-year dual-degree residency at the University of Kentucky, earning both his medical degree and his certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery. The practice, formerly McRae Wilson Oral Surgery Group, is at 5565 Murray Avenue, Suite 102, Memphis, TN 38119.

A consultation includes a review of your medical history and imaging. The office has an in-office cone beam CT scanner and an intraoral scanner, and can take additional films if the x-rays from your dentist are not enough. Your dentist can also email films ahead of the visit.
Removal is recommended when wisdom teeth are impacted, infected, damaging adjacent teeth, or associated with cysts or other pathology. Not every wisdom tooth needs to come out. The plan is based on the exam and the images, not a standard package.

Options are local anesthesia, nitrous oxide, and IV sedation. IV anesthesia requires a preoperative consultation and physical examination. Have nothing to eat or drink for eight hours before surgery. A responsible adult must come with you, stay in the office during the procedure, and drive you home. Patients may not drive for 24 hours after anesthesia.
Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at the consultation.

Payment is due at the time of service. If you have insurance, the office requests an estimate of benefits before the procedure. The estimate is based on information from your plan and is not a guarantee of benefits, coverage, or payment. The estimated patient portion is collected the day of surgery, and the claim is filed as a courtesy. Any balance after the plan processes is the patient’s responsibility. Accepted payment includes cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and CareCredit.
